Borderlines Film Festival – Film Programmer
Borderlines Film Festival is the largest rural film festival in the UK, now in its 10th year, running for two weeks in the early spring in Hereford city and the Marches, with an audience of over 14,000.
We are seeking an experienced Film Programmer to start in September 2012, and are currently looking for expressions of interest now while the 2012 Festival is in full swing (Feb 24th to Mar 11th 2012).
You need to be passionately knowledgeable about cinema, committed to Borderlines aims and responsive to its well established local audiences, with commercial flair and an eye on current and future trends in international filmmaking and funding policies.
The Festival features the best contemporary British films, excellent new documentaries and world cinema, a local heritage strand, a showcase for local filmmaking, and opportunities for learning and discussions with filmmaking professionals.
In short, this is a new role for the Festival, taking responsibility for creating a diverse programme of quality and specialist films, and providing opportunities to see inspiring and entertaining films not otherwise shown locally.
This is a part-time, freelance contract, reporting to the Festival Director, and with an annual fee ranging from £6,500 to £8,500.
Please email a short statement and CV (2 x sides of A4 max.) by April 11th 2012 to info@borderlinesfilmfestival.co.uk
